Most places that won't let you bold text โ Instagram captions, your X bio, a LinkedIn post, a Discord message that doesn't take markdown โ will happily display ๐ฏ๐ผ๐น๐ฑ ๐จ๐ป๐ถ๐ฐ๐ผ๐ฑ๐ฒ. That's what this does: it swaps your letters for the bold mathematical alphanumerics, in the clean sans flavor (๐น๐ถ๐ธ๐ฒ ๐๐ต๐ถ๐) and the chunkier serif one (๐ฅ๐ข๐ค๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ข๐ฌ), with bold italic and bold script also in the dropdown. Bold sans is the safest of all the styles on this site โ if any fancy text is going to render in an app, it's this one โ which is why it's the first one to reach for when something is being picky. It does have numbers and basic digits, unlike most decorative styles. Worth knowing: this is for short bits, not paragraphs.
Type in the box on the left. The style youโve picked on the right updates as you type โ no โgenerateโ button. Click Copy and paste it wherever you need. On the home page you can also browse every style in the list below and click any row to load it into the panel.
Bold is the workhorse. It renders in more places than any other style here, but a couple of profile fields still strip it.
| App / platform | Where | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| bio, captions, comments, username (often) | Works | Bold sans frequently survives even in the @username field โ rare for a fancy style. Bio and captions always work. | |
| TikTok | bio, captions, comments | Works | Fine. Username field is stricter but bold sans is your best shot at it. |
| Discord | messages, nicknames, About Me, status | Works | Works everywhere. Use Discord's own **markdown** inside messages; use this for nicknames, statuses and bots that ignore markdown. |
| X (Twitter) | posts, bio, display name | Works | All fine. The @handle is still plain-only. |
| posts, headline | Partial | Posts and the headline usually keep bold (sans more often than serif). Some other profile fields strip it โ check after pasting. | |
| WhatsApp / Telegram | messages, status, About | Works | Works. WhatsApp also has its own *bold* with asterisks in messages; this is for the places that one doesn't reach. |
| Games (Roblox, Fortnite, Free Fireโฆ) | in-game names | Works | Bold sans is the style most likely to pass a game's name filter. If even bold bounces, the filter is rejecting non-ASCII entirely. |
All of these are real Unicode characters, not images or font files, so the styling travels with the text wherever you paste it. The catch: a few apps with locked-down fonts will draw some glyphs as empty boxes โ that's the receiving app, not the text, and switching styles fixes it. Bold (sans), Small Caps and Full-width render the widest. Checked May 2026; platforms change their font handling constantly, so treat the table below as a strong guide, not a guarantee. The full cross-app compatibility page goes wider.
Bold is for emphasis, not body text. Where it does the job:
<strong> there. This is for apps that give you no formatting at all.**this** works in messages, not in nicknames, statuses or many bots. That's exactly where a Unicode bold is useful โ paste it in.
