About Fontletr

Short version: every other one annoyed us, so we made this.

The honest pitch

If you've ever searched for a fancy text generator, you know the drill. You land on a page, a cookie wall slides up, a newsletter modal pops over it, two ad blocks load above the actual tool, and the textarea you wanted is somewhere below a 'continue reading' fold. You came to convert one line of text. It takes 30 seconds and three dismissed dialogs.

Fontletr is the version of that without the obstacle course. You type, the styles update, you copy one, you leave. There's a single ad unit further down the page — that's the whole business model — and nothing that interrupts you. No account, no 'allow notifications', no upsell.

How it works under the hood

None of this is a real font. Real fonts are files that change how text is drawn. What this does is swap your letters for different Unicode characters that happen to look like other fonts — the bold mathematical alphanumerics, the script set, the full-width Latin characters, and so on. Because the result is plain text, the styling travels with it wherever you paste it, even into an app that has no font options at all. The flip side: a few apps with locked-down fonts will show some of these characters as empty boxes, and there's nothing any tool can do about that — it's the receiving app, not the text. When you hit that, switch styles. Bold, Small Caps and Full-width render the widest.

Who's behind it

A small team that builds web tools. We keep the surface area tiny on purpose — a handful of generators, done properly, instead of a hundred half-broken ones. If something's off, the contact page works.
